About

I have been awarded the Ministry of External Affairs (Spain) Scholarship under the Indo-Spanish CEP in 2008 to carry out my Doctoral studies in Spain. My research
interests centre on sociolinguistics and include English language teaching (ELT), foreign language teaching (FLT), language policies and minority issues. In 2010, I finished my MPhil equivalent thesis entitled ‘Language Endangerment and Minority Issues in Multilingual Settings: A Comparative Sociolinguistic Study between Spain and India'. My thesis bearing the title “Sociolinguistic Strategies of Revitalization of Minority Languages in Multilingual Settings: A Comparative Study between Spain (with special reference to Galicia) and West Bengal (India)” is a comparative sociolinguistic study between Spain and India where among several issues of Revitalization of endangered tongues, I have decided to focus on education and language education policies.
